Luke and Yuko Elliot are OMF partners living in Kazamaura Village in Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan. Luke is employed by the village board of education as a JET Programme Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). He teaches at one local junior high school and three local elementary schools. Shortly after moving to Kazamaura, Yuko was requested by the village mayor to sit as one of four members on the village's board of education--a role she has filled for over two years now. The Elliots lead a Bible studies for "seekers" and new believers. They also host a Sunday evening church service in their home once or twice a month. These services are conducted as a (temporary) branch ministry of Luke and Yuko's home church under the pastoral care of OMF missinary John Elliot and the senior pastor, Pastor Igarashi. When Luke's five-year contract ends in August 2009, the Elliots plan to move to Toronto where Luke will complete his seminary studies at Wycliffe College (University of Toronto). While there they hope to complete preparations for returning to Japan as OMF missionaries.
